Mitsubishi Electric in Philippines

History

International Elevator & Equipment, Inc. (IEE) began a joint venture agreement among Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, founder Jesus V. Del Rosario and other Filipino businessmen. IEE is a recognized leader in design, sales, installation and maintenance of elevators and escalators in the Philippines.

1969

Started operations as International Elevator & Escalator, Inc. on April 1

1970

  • First installed elevators rated 210 mpm at BPI Building (now PBCom Building) in Makati

1977

  • Changed its company name to International Elevator & Equipment, Inc.

1978

  • Launched its AC/R business unit

1979

  • Started local manufacture of selected elevator components

1980

  • Signed a service agreement covering supply of manpower to Mitsubishi Electric Saudi, Ltd. (MELSA)
  • Transferred to its own office building at Cupang, Muntinlupa on February 5

1981

  • Registered as exporter of technical and personnel management services with the BOI under RA 6135

1982

  • Talking elavators was installed at the Menton Plaza Building (now Pilipinas Shell, Makati)
  • Registered with the Philippine Overseas Construction Board in January

1984

  • 240 mpm elevators was installed at the PCI Bank Tower 1, Makati

1985

  • Introduced the first Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) elevator in the Philippines installed at Caltex (Phil.), Padre Faura Street, Manila

1986

  • Installed three elevator units for the extension of Hyatt Regency Hotel, Saipan

1989

  • AAA license granted by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board
  • Opened its south Sector Service Branch at the ground floor of Sunshine Condominium, Makati

1990

  • Set up its branch office at V. Rama St., Guadalupe, Cebu City
  • Deployed elevator installers to help Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO) install elevators at the Japan Tower Building in Paris, France

1992

  • Invested in Laguna Auto Parts Manufacturing Corporation (LAMCOR)
  • 36 elevator sales contract for Tektite Towers A & B, Ortigas Center Pasig

1993

  • Constructed its Main Office Annex Building

1994

  • 4th service branch office was opened in Manila on September 10

1996

  • The only double-deck elevators in the Philippines was first installed at One San Miguel Place Pasig
  • Transferred its Cebu branch office to Richmond Plaza Center, F. Sotto Drive, Cebu City
  • The only inclined elevators in the Philippines was first installed at Belleview Condominium, Tagaytay
  • VRF AC System was launched by its AC/R Division

1998

  • Diamond Vision installed its first full color large scale video display system spanning 100 SQ for Image One, now located at Cultural Center of the Philippines
  • ISO-9001 Certificate was awarded by Certification International

2005

  • Included the hand dryer business venture in its Airconditioning Division
  • Elevator and Escalator division ventured into Elevator Modernization

2006

  • Philippines first elevator training center was inaugurated

2011

  • IEE established International Elevator and Equipment Foundation, Inc. (IEEFI)

2012

  • Airconditioning Division ventured into the ventilator business

2014

  • Architects’ Choice Awards ’14 BCI Asia preferred brand for lifts, escalators and walkalators category

2015

  • Inauguration of the expansion of the Training center on September 14

2016

  • Entered Factory Automation Business
